High temperature on laptop!

For the past month, my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1520) is experiencing high temperature.
Idle temperature of the lap top would be more than 60°C.
When gaming, high CPU/graphic application were used, the temperature easily passes through the 90°C mark and causes high lag issues and heat issues.

I then decided to clean up the lap top this week and start searching forums for instructions. Initial steps such as hinge cover removal, Hard drive removal, optical drive removal could be easily found on the booklet or in Dell website, but further instructions such as palm rest removal, removal of the LCD screen were not included in the booklet.

I have an idea on how to disassemble those parts due to the frequent servicing of my laptop 1 year ago, summoning the technicians to come over and over again. Every time they disassemble it, I will be there looking at it, absorbing their skills. Expecting that I might use them if I were to upgrade or maintain it by myself.

After some struggling on those uncharted steps, I managed to remove all the needed parts and I reached the heat sink. There, I was shocked. About 0.5cm of black dust wall was formed behind the vent! When I touch it, my fingers was stain coal black too. I am glad that I did not follow those instructions by other users stating that using high compression air to blow it out, as it was not possible if the dust was this thick.

After assembling everything, the lap top works fins and the idle temperature dropped to 45°C. It was a high improvement my laptop. I also noticed that the wind from the vent could actually be felt now, unlike when it was blocked. The strength of the fan seems to have doubled.

So to all with high temperature issues, it is best to contact your manufacturer to have it cleaned/fix as soon as possible as high temperature could pose danger to the user and the computer itself. It is best to send it back to the manufacturer if the warranty is still on or if you doesn't have the skills to disassemble/reassemble it.

Razer Diamondback 3G revival!

I bought my Razer Diamondback 3G mouse back in February 2009, and the constant gaming and daily use of the mouse had caused it rubber layer of the mouse to be worn out, exposing the annoying sticky layer of the mouse. That sticky layer attracts dust and fibers, causing it to look like crap.


Had been searching for ways to solve the problem of the constant stickiness. And I had chosen to use clear paint, where I could preserve the original coloring of the mouse and treat the surface of the mouse.

I bought a Nippon paint PYLOX aerosol lacquer, where it is a clear spray, normally used for wood finishing for protection while keeping its original pattern.

Those instructions were quite tedious if the mouse's warranty is still on and you could not take it apart to spray paint it.

Steps for painting the mouse while keeping it usable as it does not get into the circuit of the mouse were:
Clean the surface of the mouse.
Stick masking tape of surfaces of the mouse where you does not want the paint to adhere to.
Fold some paper and use it to block places where it is possible for the aerosol to get in it.
Spray the paint as instructed by the instructions on the can. Apply several layers for better protection and longer lasting.

Here are the photos of my Razer Diamondback 3G as the finishing product. The Razer logo on the surface of the mouse is worn out by excessive use of it. That paint has a matte surface instead of a smooth one, should had chosen a glossy clear paint instead, though the price of a glossy finishing paint almost triples those normal clear ones.

An old short idiom to share

I am not sure where I had heard this Chinese idiom which I thought it is quite true when it was used to describe humans.

Every human have 2 baskets (or NIKE bags if you prefer it..).
1 is hung on your front, and 1 on your back.
When you had performed an action which you think is good, you write a note and place it inside the basket on your front.
When you had performed an action which you is bad, you write a note and place it inside the basket on your back.

The overall meaning is that people often see what's good about themselves, and did not notice what's bad about themselves. Since the "bad basket" is hung on the back, other people could always see it and realize what bad deeds you had done.


Though there are also people who always looked behind, realizing what bad deeds they had done, and try to correct them.

I think that I'm one of those who look back. I realized what bad things I had done, and then try to overcome it by setting up some resolution, but in the end, I got fed up and ended up forgetting/ignoring them, which makes me just as bad as those which did not look back, LoL~

10x lens for diamond inspection?

I've got one of these lens from my cousin (which is 20 years older than me) with a 10x zoom, LoL.

Now that I have a portable 10x lens, I will try to use it to observe lots of minute stuffs. When he handed me that lens, he let me try the lens on a few diamonds, to observe the clarity of them. Even though some impurities could be observed, they aren't visible to the naked eye. After all is said, they sure are shiny (and don't forgot that its extremely expensive), LoLoL~
Those diamonds costs a ton! I saw it ranges from MYR2,000 to MYR30,000!

Now that I have my own lens, I could also use it to observe mine...

Fallout 3 Chinese stealth armor

I've finished Fallout: Anchorage in several hours, and gained a Chinese stealth armor. The armor is best used for sneaking, as it provides perfect cover while in sneaking mode. While in stealth mode, I tried to access my pip-boy, turns out that everything behind the pip boy gone stealth too. Here is a picture about it.


There are some things I don't like about the game though. The Chinese voice actor are a joke. Their pronunciation are crap, nothing spoken by them are right, and only some of the words are identifiable.. Felt kinda insulted too btw.

It seems that there are a number of people visits my blog searching for Chinese stealth armor, think that I should write on how to get it . Its simple though, just finish the whole Anchorage simulation, you will then gain access to the sealed room which the outcasts wants you to open. The stealth armor is in the rack is on the left, close to the winterized armor.

Be warned though, after the sealed door is opened, a few seconds later, there will be a fight between outcasts. Careful about the minigun though, it might be fatal if careless.

Another note, I enter the simulation at level 3, when I came out, I am at level 7, LoLoL~~

Cockroach encountered? Just @#$% it!

Ever find yourself facing with the dark shiny insect in the bathroom?
I did, numerous times, LoL~

Here is a random post on how to face it, LoL~ Though it is limited to peoples which will not scream their heads off and run out at a random direction.

Most bathroom have a toilet brush, used to wash the toilet bowl. The brush could be used as a weapon. If is easier to use compared to a rolled papers. It is harder, you can precisely target it, and it might spare you the step where you need to handle the cockroach to dispose of it, LoL~ When you use the brush, there are times where the cockroach will get stuck between the brush. If it did happen, knock it off into the toilet bowl, and let it has its watery death

You might need a side weapon, any detachable shower would be good. It will be used to flush the cockroach out if it reaches an inaccessible area for the brush, LoL~


The major drawback is that this method is only limited on bathrooms. If it ran out of the room, you will have to use the conventional way, LoL~~~

Ball!!

At Saturday Monash has held a ball. I had to fetch Joe at KTM, and he made me wait for a very very long time. When he reaches, tons of excuses poured in (as expected). We then met up with Yeet because they had planned to style their hair at a saloon. they extimated the price of hair styling is about MYR 15. when we reaches, we found out that a person is about MYR28. I backed off, and let them do their thing.

When they are finished, we went back to the car park to change to formal wear. at that time, i styled my own hair with Gatsby moving rubber myself.. Without mirror!!

Too bad as time passes, the moving rubber does not hold the hair very much, and it ended as another style as time moves on.

As my tablemates met, all of the dudes are wearing formal wears and the girls looks gorgeous. one of the girls has (temperory)tatoo just for the ball, LoL.
1 of the patrons on my table went off due to an emergency stuff, where he had to go to Singapore. 2 of the other patrons are performers, leaving the 7 peoples per table.

Going into the ball, once again I found out that my table was situated next to the speaker. all patrons on my table had their ears blasted till near deaf. Though as time goes on, our ear adapted to the situation and we don't care much about it later on since we are walking all over to find targets for pictures, though its not very fruitful.

I left there at 11.55pm. got stuck by the Merdeka jam on the road. Tons of irresponsible motorcyclist ignoring my car and drove without taking cautious, taking up the whole road. I stucked at the junction for about 10 minutes. The police are doing nothing. They vanished after the gathering is off.

After passing through the suffering junction, everything went well and I reached home safe and sound.

Things I notice today (27 Apr 08)

The world never stop moving. Good things and bad things happens all the time, despite the severity of it.

Today I noticed a reckless driver while I am having dinner on the street. That guy places his granddaughter (I kinda know that guy) on his lap while he was driving, allowing access for her to the dash board, the wipers, signals, wiper fluid all under her possession, and this happens when his still driving. then that guy parked his car without showing the signal, almost causing an accident, but he does not care about it, after he stopped his car, he still allows her to click everywhere.. Darn that guy, for god's sake, discipline yourself AND your daughter. It won't be fun if something happens.

Then I notice someone that are sweeping the floor at the hawker store beside the one I was at. That sweeper does not sweep the dry leaves to this side of the hawker store, or to the drain., but to a plastic bag prepared. Though this type of act are unnoticeable, it got into me. Its still a good deed, though it was light and unnoticeable.

That concludes of what I thought today, and now I had to face the reality and finish my genetics report! Damn stress!!!

Shit faces in community

When people live in a society/community, they will meet others and get known to peoples.

There is a chance where peoples would met a black sheep, which will constantly ruin your life or at the very least, causing you to have a bad day.

For example, when A was had trouble, and wanted to know the opinion of other people to known about the situation (such as polling), that shit face would notice about that poll and convince others to sabotage the poll, making the poll creator felt like shit.

After the poll creator found out who is the shit face, the shit face proudly say in front of that guy, stating that annoying him is his goal, not knowing that he is one of the (main) causes that the poll creator to panic and seek for public opinion.

Message of the day: If you had been/being/planning to be a shit face, try putting your shoes on the person that you had been "shit-faced" and think of what they will think, especially that you are causing the panic attack in the first place.

Taylors S4(partly) gathering!

Today I had a gathering with my SAM friends!
Some of them purposely traveled from Sarawak to here!!
We met at Sunway Pyramid! Though some of them could not make it due to some reason.

Before we met, I think that I arrived at Sunway Pyramid half an hour early. Thinking that I might just have to walk around for half an hour, I spotted the video shop and decided to spend some time there.

Unexpectedly while I walked in, I spotted Shao D*ng, Tai J*a and Chr*s! But it seems that they haven't noticed at my arrival. I decided to purposely "accidentally" bump into Shao D*ng and apologised, LoL. It talk him a moment to realise that it was me, LoL!~

Then we spend some time talking and more "gatherers" start arriving, at first we have 6 people, we decided to go to Esquire Kitchen to book a place for lunch, and to wait for other 4 to arrive. Although we order 1st, after all the people arrived, it still take them a hell long of time to bring out all the food, though it grant us some time to chat. Even after we finished, we asked for the bill, and it took them more than 10 minutes to prepare the bill... Nice service, Esquire Kitchen Sunway Pyramid...

We then proceed to the archery range, and some of them play. Most of them sucked, but Tai Ji*, Chr*s and Bean kinda rule a little.. just a little only though, LoL. There is once "Hydrogen" Fon
shoot an arrow and it went to the ceiling.. Like an exponential graph, if you know what i mean, LoL~

Then we walked around for some time until we decided to go watch a movie known as "Jumper". While waiting for the show to start, we randomly walked into shops, but not quite browsing their items, but chatting away, ignoring the shop keeper, LoL~

My journey ends after the movie, since I had to have dinner at home, so I left them here.

Its a nice day though, meeting friends back from Australia.

Found this thing some time ago, after observation for days, I had confirmed that the target is the one I had wanted, fitted to the requirements of the case I wanted. And now I will have a strategy to acquire it, the planning takes around 2 years, where access to Australia MAY be available to me and I would move in to the best possible position and reason for me to get it.

For people who were still confused on what I am saying, this is what I mean, LoL:

I saw a N82 and my attention was caught on that since 2 months ago.
The stats of the phone fits my requirements (which involves a lot of game installing) and extra applications. The most important point is that it is a S60 3rd edition phone, since all the applications I had collected for my previous lost phone are that edition, I could reuse all of the applications. Maybe in 2 years time I may get to Australia to do my honors or masters if I could still hang on. When I got to Australia then I need to register for phone service, thats when I will move in and choose that phone. The plans may change though, and the target could sway away~~
